Medical Detox

Medical detox

Three to seven days of 24-hour medical supervision with direct line-of-sight to our Long Beach hospital partner. If any medical complication arises that requires higher-acuity care, transfer happens within minutes — not hours.

Withdrawal protocols are reviewed against current peer-reviewed research quarterly. Dr. Brockhurst's seat on the hospital research committee keeps our practice aligned with what the evidence actually shows works.

What's included: 24/7 nursing, physician-managed medication, psychiatric consult within 48 hours, MAT when clinically indicated, and coordinated handoffs with primary care providers already treating the patient locally.

Substances We Treat

Residential Treatment

Residential

A 30 to 90 day stay in our 59-bed residence on North Waite Court. The daily rhythm is mindfulness-centered — morning and afternoon meditation sits are clinical touchpoints, not optional extras.

Family programming is woven into every week: weekly family therapy, biweekly multi-family workshops, and parent or partner coaching. Peer mentor pairing begins within 72 hours of admission and continues through discharge.

What's included: private and shared rooms, nutritionist-designed meals, access to the swimming pool, heated therapy pool, gymnasium, creative arts studio, and a 90-day alumni check-in cadence post-discharge.

  • 7:45 AM — Mindful breathwork and intention setting

Outpatient Program

Outpatient

Three outpatient tracks for Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood, and the North Orange County corridor. PHP runs 5 days/week for 2–4 weeks. IOP runs 3 evenings/week for 8–12 weeks, built for shift workers. Standard outpatient continues weekly therapy and psychiatric medication management for 3–6 months after step-down.

Step-down between levels is based on clinical milestones and coordinated with your local primary care provider — the hospital-partner model continues through outpatient.

Dual Diagnosis

Dual diagnosis

Integrated psychiatric and substance use care led by Dr. Babayemi, board-certified addiction psychiatrist. More than 60% of patients arriving at MDCR have a co-occurring condition — depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder — and our outcomes data shows treating them together substantially improves long-term sobriety.

Approach: integrated assessment in week one, single coordinated treatment plan, psychiatric medication managed by the same clinician who attends the family meeting, and discharge with named local psychiatric follow-up.
